book review: Origin (Lux #4)

Daemon will do anything to get Katy back.

After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. Taking out anyone who stands in his way? Done. Burning down the whole world to save her? Gladly. Exposing his alien race to the world? With pleasure.

All Katy can do is survive.

Surrounded by enemies, the only way she can come out of this is to adapt. After all, there are sides of Daedalus that don’t seem entirely crazy, but the group’s goals are frightening and the truths they speak even more disturbing. Who are the real bad guys? Daedalus? Mankind? Or the Luxen?

Together, they can face anything.

But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on

Onyx (Lux, #2) Review

Book Bio : Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.

When  I started the first book i was utterly floored with my desire to read more, hanging on every word from Jennifer.

Daemon The boy next door with a fierce attitude his ice and cocky determined meant to keep everyone away, meant to keep out determined of not naive Katy  away from getting to close to him or his sister Dee..... a little to late XD

Who wouldn't want to be called Kitty Cat by Daemon....
I loved this book its writing was brilliant and flowing and the plot works !

This second book drips with tension and keeps you hanging waiting and begging for more. The chemistry between them is amazing.

Differently a wonderful book to keep LUX going  :)

Book review on - P.s. I love you by Cecelia Ahern.

Summary (Goodreads):

A novel about holding on, letting go, and learning to love again.
Now in paperback, the endearing novel that captured readers' hearts and introduced a fresh new voice in women's fiction Cecelia Ahern.
Holly couldn't live without her husband Gerry, until the day she had to. They were the kind of young couple who could finish each other's sentences. When Gerry succumbs to a terminal illness and dies, 30-year-old Holly is set adrift, unable to pick up the pieces. But with the help of a series of letters her husband left her before he died and a little nudging from an eccentric assortment of family and friends, she learns to laugh, overcome her fears, and discover a world she never knew existed.
The kind of enchanting novel with cross-generational appeal that comes along once in a great while, PS, I Love You is a captivating love letter to the world!

What did i think :

I have watched the movie first which i shouldn't have done, the movie and the book are very different form each other, and have their own charms. heres my take on the book .

When Hollys husband  dies she is shocked to find out her husband has planed surprises for  her throw the first year of  her loss, he life changes as his letters force her to  find herself and get out of depression by simply finding good in life again,

Holly has a adventure and learns to let go and what to hold onto. i loved this book and still brought tears to my eyes.

Quotes form the book.

“what a luxury it was for people to hold their loved ones whenever they wanted”

“...God leads you to it and takes you through it.”

“Nobody's life is filled with perfect little moments. And if it were, they wouldn't be perfect little moments. They would just be normal. How would you ever know happiness if you never experience downs?”

“Her best friend was gone and nobody understood that no amount of makeup, fresh air or shopping was going to fill the hole in her heart.”

Book Review : Epic Fail by Claire LaZebnik

Well where do I start with this fun book, a modern spin on Pride and Prejudice that is both  entraining and  romantic, I you enjoy the youth fun books then I suggest you read it,Ii find a lot of fun in graping this type books and reading them , this one surprised me !

I was very glad when I found it and started reading it instantly finishing it the same day...

right lets jump in !

Plot:
Elise Benton moves to La with her family, her parents having gotten  positions at a very high society  school, where all the stars children happen to go, with her mother as the principal and father as the mathematic teacher - this could only mean a disaster.

Elise is having a bad first day  having had a run in with one of the popular girls thats until she meets Derek Edwards, the  moody hunk with  movie star parents, he seems aloof and grumpy, but her sister Jean is having  the best of days having fallen for Derek's bets friend chase, oh did i mention chases sister hates Elise's guts ?

What I thought  ?
I loved it, it was a fresh take on a classic  story, the characters as well developed and the story runs smoothly making it a real page turner, there was some confusing parts but all in all i would read it again !
4/5 hearts

book Review: Vanishing Acts by Jodi Picoult

Wel where shall I start ?

Jodi Picoult is a amazing writer and I  know she has  bucket loads off fans,  I mast say her  book My sisters keeper - was one of my favorite  books, but Vanishing acts left me wanting..

The book starts with Delia, the protagonist, finding a small child as part of her job, only to find out her father is in more trouble. Delia a mother and wife with a 4 year old and a lawyer husband, a best friend  she is close to but turns out he feels more for her then just the friend.   try's to go throw life with normality till her father is accused for kidnapping- for kidnapping Dalia.

The book was very captivating, I did finish it  in one days time  and  some bits did lose me here and there but i enjoyed drama and story telling over all  yet when the story neared the end  i felt like it was left incomplete.

The story Delia  goes with her husband to save her father form life impression  and along with it her  best friend yet  story's form their past reviled like her husbands  alcoholism, i felt the end off the book lacking yes  thy did get her father at the end but i  feel its more personally my own problem with open book endings.
after the overall story i did feel slightly moved  yet more disappointed, thank you  for reading this is my personal review on  Vanishing Acts.

Review of Vampire Diaries : The Awakening and The struggle

Well where to start, i am a huge fan of the TV seiries, and  was exstactive when I got my hands on the books,   well it wasnt exactly what I expected but i do think that  it was a good read.

I did  however feel that L.J. Smith could have  gone more into detail on the characters, i feel that they are soem what under developped i would have loved to read more about stevan's personality  and  more depth as well ass the yummie Damon,   i feel like i been cheated by not  having enought of thier personalities.

Elena  starts off as a very spoiled selfish teenager, who is use to being center of attention,  i  wasn't to found of her  at the beginning, but as it goes start to see abit more of  how strong  she is as a person, picking love above  other petty things such as pupulitity and so on.

i have to say i couldn't put the book down, and i am very pleased i did start to read the books, because it hooked me i hope to see more of the characters depth and emotion.

I found setfan to be the  tourmented soul, yet a senstive soul who wnats conacetion and a place to belong, he does not like what he is and trys to fight is nature.

Damon the dangoures bad boy, that has a good girls toes curling in excetment ! i just coulnt wiat to see what the handsome devil would atmet to do next !

Elena, despite her  perosnlity defects at teh start of the first book, she show sherself to be strong which i do think is important in leaning female characters, she aslo goes after what she wnats with everything she got.

Matt- i found to be sweet boy next door, Caroline the topical high-school .... you knwo it ryms with wich.
Bonnie seems sweet and innocent.

Out of 5 i give The Awakening and The struggle 4 stares.
